Indians Thoughts……

Below are my thoughts on the Indians after watching them through the first three games of the season:

This team is young but proved on Opening Day they will fight back

Even though the White Sox took many of their starters out late in the game on Friday, the Indians managed to battle back and make it a 15-10 ballgame. At one point, the Indians were down 14-0 and tried to make a comeback in the late innings. It wasn’t enough for the victory but if the team continues to not quit in intense situations, they may be able to pull off some come from behind victories

Fausto Carmona’s rough outing on Opening Day is a bit alarming

The Indians saw the Fausto of old come back last season but giving up 10 earned runs in three innings on Friday might be alarming. Carmona was not appearing to be having trouble in the spring, however, giving up that many runs in a short amount of time could be cause for concern

Third Baseman Jack Hannahan had an awesome Opening Day

Questions still remained in regards to the Indians infield coming out of Spring Training but Hannhan was impressive on Friday. It will be interesting to see if he continues this pace and remains a key factor in the lineup. After dealing away Jayson Nix, the Indians will need to have consistent bats in the lineup

Playing Against a Tough Central Division Rival in Cold Weather is Never Easy

The Chicago White Sox were predicted to be a contender in the AL Central and they proved how powerful they can be against the Indians this weekend. When rebuilding, it’s never easy to open up against a divisional rival that is expected to contend.
