Cavaliers Take Down Bulls to Earn 3-1 Lead in Series

After being surprised by a young Chicago Bulls team on Thursday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers played like the aggressive and depth-filled team they are by taming the Bulls 121-98. With the win, the Cavaliers take a 3-1 series lead as they will play Game 5 in Cleveland on Tuesday night.

Cleveland’s offensive weapons woke up for Game 4 as leading scorers for the Cavaliers included Lebron James who finished with 37 points, Antawn Jamison with 24 points, and Mo Williams with 19. Anthony Parker, who was quiet in Game 3 on Thursday, bounced back scoring 12 points, six of which came from behind the three point arc. Coming off the bench, JJ Hickson finished with 10 points.

The Cavaliers had a slow start and only managed a three point lead by the end of the first quarter. Bulls starters Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and L0uol Deng scored clutch baskets to keep the game close during the first half. The Bulls had the lead at certain times in the first quarter but could not get a steady lead similar to what they had on Thursday night.

In the second half, the Cavaliers took over as defense and rebounds underneath the basket prevented the Bulls from gaining any momentum.

Lebron James described this as “the most important game of their season” and the Cavaliers got the win they needed. The Cavaliers managed to get a good night out of their key starters and stepped it up on defense in the second half. The Bulls are a determined team but the Cavaliers pounced any hopes of a comeback with an explosive second half.

With the series coming back to Cleveland on Tuesday, the Cavaliers will have the opportunity to do something no other Cavaliers team has done in the playoffs, which is put away the Chicago Bulls.
