Cavaliers Have Lost Three Straight But Could Get Back On Winning Track Soon

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost their third straight game on Sunday, however, there is still plenty of basketball left to be played and the team could be on the winning track soon. Many factors revolving the recent trade for Antawn Jamison are probably affecting the team at the moment but the Cavaliers still have the best record in the Eastern Conference and are one of the NBA’s best teams.

Jamison may have had a rocky start in his debut with the Cavaliers against Charlotte but managed to finish Sunday’s game against Orlando with 20 points to his name. The move from a team that was not going anywhere in the Washington Wizards to the Eastern Conference’s best team is quite a change and may have affected Jamison in his first game with the team. He still has to learn a new system very quickly but one of the reasons General Manager Danny Ferry brought him in was for Jamison’s ability to run plays within a system similar to what Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown uses. Jamison will eventually be the players we traded for and will help the Cavaliers.

With Jamison in Cleveland, there are questions as to whether or not Zydrunas Illgauskus will return to the Cavaliers. Rumors circulated over the weekend that the NBA might investigate whether or not the buyout was preplanned. NBA rules prohibit buyouts from being preplanned and could block Illgauskus from returning to Cleveland. Illgauskus has publicly stated he was unaware of how the buyout process worked meaning it might not have been prearranged. Illgauskus could be returning to Cleveland but may entertain offers from other teams.

Whether or not Illgauskus returns to the Cavaliers, this team is talented and has lots of depth. The Cavaliers went on a 13-game win streak before the All-Star Break without the help of injured players Mo Williams and Delonte West. Jawad Williams, Anderson Varejao and Daniel “Boobie” Gibson all proved their value during this stretch and can help the Cavaliers when needed. Lebron James was spectacular during that stretch and is determined to win a championship. This team has the depth to win a championship and the talent to do so and can get back on the right track.

The Cavaliers have been built up into one of the best teams in the NBA and despite the rough patch, will be back on the winning track soon.
